CHAD POWERS – Main Title
Still waters run deep. We were thrilled when show-runner Michael Waldron and producer Adam Fasullo reached out and asked us to create a title for their hilarious new Hulu show Chad Powers. The series follows a disgraced and cancelled former college quarterback, played by Glenn Powell, who gets an unlikely chance at redemption…but only if no one realizes his real identity. The show is a hilarious and unexpectedly poignant character study of a man who begins to wonder if he can actually become the better person that he is pretending to be.
Michael and Adam wanted a main title that was bold and ludicrously over the top—one that embraced macho swagger while exposing its inadvertent absurdity. Starting with a design presentation that blended sports with comedy, the selection was narrowed down to a look inspired by the towering stadium lights that surround outdoor football fields (if you look closely at the opening, the squares are literally a grid made of iron). Revealed in a sweeping camera move, the title is bathed in the blue and yellow colors of Chad’s new team, the Catfish.
