CARRY ON – Main Titles
One bag for one life. In director Jaume Collet-Serra’s pulse-pounding Netflix holiday thriller Carry On, star Taran Eggerton’s character Ethan has an agonizing decision to make—save the woman he loves, or protect 250 lives on an aircraft he is sworn to protect. This title sequence has three chapters…starting with xrays of bags that have content related to the credit (there’s a camera in the xray under the DP’s credit…watch for the easter eggs!)
The sequence then transitions into a surreal episode where the camera is within the x-ray machine, with rays sweeping over iconic props from the film. We’re not sure how the wrecked car fit inside the machine, but it looked so cool everyone just went with it. And finally, the ending of the sequence is made up of hypnotic mandalas constructed entirely from luggage, the final mandala opening to reveal the Deva-designed main title.
